Prostate cancer may give symptoms related to cancer in general, as well as symptoms related to the pressure of the growing cancerous tissue on the urethra. Prostate cancer is more symptomatic in advanced stages. When symptomatic, it mostly spread to surrounding lymph nodes or other organs or tissues. The important thing is that prostate cancer can be detected at an early stage, without symptoms.

Common signs and symptoms include:

  • Frequent urination,
  • Urination at night,
  • Urgent need to urinate
  • Urinary incontinence,
  • Difficulty starting to urinate
  • Intermittent urination,
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Pain when urinating,
  • Bleeding in the urine,
  • Bloody semen,
  • Erection problems,
  • Back pain, bone pain (due to the spread of cancer),
  • Pain in testicles,
  • Weakness, fatigue,
  • Weight loss,

All these symptoms alone are not enough to diagnose prostate cancer. However, in the presence of some of these, prostate cancer should be suspected and necessary controls should be made. Similar findings may also be present in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. Imaging tests and blood tests can be easily differentiated.
