It is the surgical removal of tumor cells in cancer patients. It is applied as the first treatment method in most types of cancer. In order to clear all cancer cells, a radical surgical procedure is applied with the surrounding lymph tissues. Surgical treatment is decided as a result of the evaluation of the patient according to the type of cancer, its location, its spread, the age of the patient, and the presence of additional disease.

Method of Application:
Open surgery : The area of the patient to be treated is opened, the tumor focus is taken in a large way. The healing process is relatively longer.
Laparoscopic surgery: Multiple incisions are made on the patient’s skin. It is entered with the help of thin tubes and cameras. Tumor tissue is thoroughly cleaned. Recently, robotic surgery applications have become more widespread. It provides more effective and comfortable treatment in smaller tumor areas.
Laser surgery : With the help of laser beams, the tumor area is cut and removed.
Cryotherapy: Tumor tissue is removed with the help of liquid nitrogen. There is less risk of bleeding.
Endoscopic surgery : In organs with lumen such as colon and bladder, the tumor focus is taken with the help of an endoscope.
Possible side effects :
Some possible side effects may be seen depending on the type of cancer, size, location, age of the patient, presence of additional disease, immune status, and surgical procedure. These:
